![]() Which makes the gun less (spongy) feeling when shooting and you get less rise on the muzzle plus the 15 pound spring virtually eliminates misfeed's and the stove piping!!!Īs far as the threaded barrel I have one myself. You can buy a 15 pound stainless steel recoil spring that is a single spring instead of a double spring The stronger spring can cause misfeed's and stove piping. Recoil.the stronger the spring the more the muzzle rises (comes off target) 2. The original recoil spring is 17 pound's the stainless steel recoil spring from lakeline is 18 pound's! Two issues with a recoil spring that is to strong 1. The only thing I'd change is adding night sights. No amount of useless aftermarket stuff will ever prove more useful than mags, ammo and training. My recommendations are always going to be mags, ammo and training. The only reason my XL has the RD is because it came that way with the trade. It is simply a part that can fail and I put more value on iron sights, particularly for SD/HD. I have a RD on one of my P365XL's and don't care for it. Viable exceptions would be adding night sights which do have a purpose. Again, generally speaking, most aftermarket parts are crap you don't need. Resist the urge to change things simply because aftermarket parts are available. So basically, if it's not broke.don't fix it. Generally speaking, I always advise against changing internals unless a problem already exists and you are trying to fix it. There is always a possible issue with changing around internals. I realize a G3 isn’t necessarily ideal for 3 gun, but I’d just be starting and won’t spend bigger $ on something setup specifically for competition if I find it’s not for me or I’m just terrible. Ultimately I’m thinking of adding all of these upgrades to a TORO slide for potentially getting involved in 3 gun and adding better sights to the stock slide for everyday use. I’m not a huge fan of the factory ones, especially the rear lacking any dots. I’m wondering if the comp actually does much on a relatively small caliber like 9mm or of adding one is more aesthetic than function.ĥ- Stock slide with metal sights- best reasonably priced sights. ![]() More accurate? Does adding a comp do much for recoil? I’m not super worried about felt recoil, but my wife shoots with me so she might. Couple mods/upgrades I’m considering and would like input on.ġ- Lakeline Stainless striker guide- what does it do for me vs factory? I assume reliability.Ģ- Lakeline stainless guide rod/recoil spring- what does it do for me vs factory?ģ- Lakeline threaded “target” barrel. So these being things love I’d like to give them the best care possible so they take care of me if they ever have to. G3 I love and a G3c which I plan to love just as much. ![]()
